At MC Tech and Lenovox, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over your own data.

Lenovox AI is a product of MC Tech, a technology company based in Nigeria. We are the data controller for all personal data processed through the Lenovox platform.

Brain Box data is stored locally on your device in your browser. We do not transmit Brain Box data to our servers.

How We Use Your Data

To create and manage your Lenovox account
To provide AI tutoring, quizzes, and all platform features
To process LNX coin transactions and maintain your wallet
To process subscription payments through Paystack
To calculate and award referral bonuses
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
To maintain the leaderboard and badge system
To send important account notifications (not marketing without consent)
To improve the platform based on anonymised usage patterns

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only with trusted third-party services that help us operate the platform:

Firebase (Google): User authentication and database storage
OpenAI: Processing AI messages (your messages are sent to OpenAI's servers to generate responses)
Paystack: Secure payment processing
Supabase: MeetUp media file storage (photos and videos)
Vercel: Server hosting and API routing

All third-party providers are contractually obligated to keep your data secure and use it only for the specified purposes.

AI & OpenAI

When you send messages to Lenovox AI, those messages are transmitted to OpenAI's API to generate responses. Please be aware:

Do not share sensitive personal information (passwords, financial details, national ID numbers) in AI messages.
OpenAI processes your messages according to their own privacy policy.
We retain AI conversation history in your session for context but do not store long-term conversation history on our servers.
Image uploads for Vision analysis are sent to OpenAI and are not stored by us after processing.

Data Retention

Account data: Retained as long as your account is active, then deleted within 30 days of account closure.
Transaction records: Retained for 7 years for financial compliance.
MeetUp content: Deleted within 30 days of removal or account closure.
Inactive accounts: Accounts with no activity for 12 months may be deleted with 30 days' prior email notice.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store:

Your theme preference (dark/light/dim)
Brain Box AI memory (stored locally, never sent to servers)
Daily image upload count
Daily LNX earning tracker for games
Blocked users list (MeetUp)

This local storage data can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data or reinstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

Lenovox is designed for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete the account.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
Firebase Authentication handles secure login — we never store raw passwords
Payments are handled entirely by Paystack — we never see your card details
Firestore security rules restrict data access to the owner's account only
API keys are stored as server-side environment variables, never in frontend code

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of Lenovox after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
